Often ductwork is hidden from view and therefore dirt, dust and blockages will be hidden. If left this contamination may propagate unwanted allergens or provide a breeding ground for bacteria and moulds. This can seriously effect staff productivity and pose a health risk to visitors and customers.
The Workplace (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations require building owners and managers to ensure that mechanical ventilation systems (including air conditioning systems) should be regularly and properly cleaned, tested and maintained to ensure that they are kept clean and free from anything which may contaminate the air.

We at QES Ltd will work with you to provide the best solutions possible and provide a service designed to help meet the obligations and legal requirements for those responsible.
Firstly we will carry out a detailed condition survey/risk assessment using CCTV and/or digital evidence of the levels of contamination. This will include sampling for microbiological organisms tested by a UKAS accredited laboratory.
The assessment will highlight hygiene defects and contamination levels throughout the ventilation system. Recommendations and sample results in areas with potential hygiene risks will be pin pointed so we know where resources should be concentrated, the reported will be in line with the industry standards laid down by HVCA TR19 and CIBSE TM26.
State of the art cleaning to the highest standards
Should the ventilation system require cleaning and/or biocidal treatment a detailed proposal will be drafted and will include details of access to the system and access doors into the system.
The latest cleaning methods will be used to minimise disruption and in accordance with industry standards.
On completion of cleaning, a hygiene certificate and post clean report – including before and after photos, will be issued. Where specified CCTV evidence, post microbiological sampling, Vacuum Test (V.T.) and/or Deposit Thickness Test (D.T.T.) can be provided.
